Okay, don’t get me wrong, this ISN’T the world’s smallest Linux PC. Actually, the smallest Linux PC maybe even smaller as embedded Linux has evolved.

But from PC users’ standpoint, this Linux PC pictured above isn’t big at all, in fact, it’s as small as an apple designed for use in spaceships.

What’s the point? It looks cool and eventually we should be able to replace bulky desktop PCs with these little min-versions.

So, would you like a Space Cube? Tough luck, at least for the moment. Outside of Japan - where the Cube has been developed by the Shimafuji Corporation - your best bet is to keep watching the Star Dundee website. It’s an offshoot of the Space Systems Research Group of the University of Dundee. They’re planning to sell the Space Cube once a few technical issues are ironed out and, unfortunately, it’ll be a bit more expensive than the price we found before - around $325. Instead, this remarkable PC will probably be going for around £1,500.

Wow, who would’ve thought you could make a Lego PC?

Most things worked out amazingly well, like the ATX power switches fitting perfectly snug in the space of a 1×1 brick, and the LEDs fitting perfectly in a 1×1 brick with hole. I hot glued a 1×1 brick to the power and reset switches to act as buttons. I also put a dab of hot glue on each corner of the ATX I/O plate, which was just a little too small to fit snugly.

I also realized that I underestimated the cohesive strength of Lego bricks. When I first put the top on, I couldn’t get it off! I had to add a nearly complete border of flat plates from my spare parts to get it to detach easily.

1. Load DVD from DVD drive or DVD file and rip, in order to import DVD from DVD drive or DVD file and back up to computer, so users can share DVD with friends or back up/rip DVD on PC, or play on their ipod, iphone, zune, mobile phone and many other popular players.

2. Convert movie/video from DVD to the right format and play on media platform. A DVD generally contains two files AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS. VIDEO_TS including VOB?IFO and BUP files. The DVD Ripper software rips the VOB file to other format, because the VOB file is the movie itself.

There for, the major job of DVD Ripper on PC is to rip the VOB file from DVD to other format, so users can get the movie on their computer without play the DVD Disc anymore. e.g convert DVD to MOV-quicktime(*.mov) so the DVD file can be played on Quicktime.

Key features of Daniusoft DVD Ripper:

1. Setting Video Audio.

After ‘Load DVD’, you can click the ?Settings? to set for DVD video w ith’Resoluion’ ,

‘Frame Rate’, ‘Encoder’ and ‘Bit Rate’. Generally, 29.97fps is the best Frame Rate for all DVD. And DVD audio with ‘Sample Rate’, ‘Encoder’ , 1 or 2 Channels Stereo in ‘Channel’ and ‘Bit Rate’.

2. Trim DVD chapters.

DVD generally contain more than 10 chapters, the Daniusoft DVD Ripper can trim any chapter with any length, just ‘Set Start Time’ and ‘Set End Time’ or set ‘Selected Lenght’ so people can enjoy the episode without play the whole DVD or upload as interesting episode to internet.

Note: It can?t set the width and highth of the screen when trimming.

3. Crop DVD Video.

All DVD has black edges regardless you like or not, and the black edges always take up part of screen. And Daniusoft DVD Ripper can crop the black edges on parts of video or the whole video, via set ’ Zoom’ to select ’ Keep Original, ’ Full screen ’ or with 16:9, 4:3 ratio to control how video play on screen, so you can enjoy videos more comfortable in full screen without back edges any more. You can crop with the auto ‘Crop’ option or manual to set ‘Up’, ‘Down’, ‘Left’, ‘Right’.

Note: Edit video on the small windows and has auto ‘Crop’ option.

4. Effect DVD Video.

Do some effect on the DVD video to get a new feeling. You can adjust ‘Brightness’, ‘Contrast’, ‘Saturation’ to make video more bright or obscuration. If you don’t want to setting manual, click the drop menu to select auto effect for your video. After done, you can get different video from your DVD.

Note: Set volume of the video, MAX 200%.

5. Capture photos from DVD when preview.

When preview the video on the small screen before ripping, you can click the ‘Capture’ button to capture the screen from DVD and save as a photo. Then click ‘Folder’ button next to find the photo on your computer. Don’t worry for the nice video fleeting, you can capture it and save as photo now.

6. Rip DVD with customized setting.

Daniusoft DVD Ripper allows users customized video formats, select the very section of the DVD movie that you want it to be converted, and merge more DVD chapters together into one single file, so people can get the whole movie as one file; the Daniusoft DVD Ripper will auto-shutdown computer when the conversion is finished with multi-thread conversion or open the output folder after conversion, with batch conversion function, so it rips DVD with more higher speed and better quality.

7. Rip audio from DVD.

After load DVD movie, you can rip audio from DVD movie to put on ipod, creative zen, iphone 3G, etc. Go to the main interface, select the output format as MP3 and start the conversion. If you want to get better music quality, just select a higher audio bit rate and sample rate by

click the ‘Settings’ option, and you can also setting the output audio track and subtitle.

Other tips:

1. Edit.

The ‘Edit’ option of Daniusoft DVD Ripper let’s you check the chapters info easily. You can click ‘Check All’ to select all chapters one time and then start conversion or trim, crop, and effect.

2. Options.

The ‘Options’ option can set Language from ‘Chinese’ to ‘English’. Besieds, click the ‘Preference’, you can easy change the ‘Photo Dir’ to save photos capture from video when preview and store with different ‘Image Type’.

3. Help.
